The ASEAN-Korea Center organized an exhibition and seminar on the coffee industry in Southeast Asia.
During the Exploring Cafe Industry from ASEAN event last week, coffee-related products from 20 Southeast Asian companies were presented.
The items were selected by the ASEAN Trade Promotion Agencies and included premium coffee, highland tea, organic fruit juice, and snacks.
The center’s Secretary General Cho Young-jai noted that the idea behind the event was to provide opportunities for matching businesses from the 10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and potential local importers and buyers.

“We also arranged a seminar about the ASEAN Cafe Industry to promote the better understanding of unique cafe items from ASEAN member states,” he said.
In addition, barista classes served as an opportunity for Korean buyers and the public to experience the high quality and rich taste of coffee beans from ASEAN countries.
“The Exploring Cafe Industry from ASEAN enhanced the global sourcing for Korean buyers in the utilization of the Korea-ASEAN FTA on goods while providing the opportunity for Korean consumers to purchase high quality products at reasonable prices,” he said.
