Oct. 13, 2017 - 09:47 By Yonhap
South Korean attacking midfielder Moon Chang-jin has completed his move to the United Arab Emirates side Shabab Al Ahli Club, his South Korean club announced Friday.

Gangwon FC in the top-flight K League Classic said Moon has terminated the contract with them by mutual consent and joined Al Ahli. The terms of his contract with the Dubai-based club weren't revealed.

Gangwon said Al Ahli has been trying to acquire Moon since last month for their new season and the 24-year-old player recently told them that he wants to go overseas. Gangwon said Moon promised to sign with them if he returns to the K League.

Moon made his pro debut with the Pohang Steelers in 2012 before moving to newly promoted Gangwon this year. He has been enjoying a career high season with Gangwon, marking six goals and three assists in 29 league matches.

A skillful left-footed attacker, Moon represented South Korea at the 2016 Rio de Olympic Games. He scored 16 goals in 31 matches with the U-23 side, and netted seven goals in nine matches with the U-20 team, but has yet to play for the South Korean senior squad.

Al Ahli are currently fourth in the UAE Arabian Gulf League with two wins and one loss. (Yonhap)
