On Monday police caught a woman who allegedly killed, dismembered and dumped the body of a man she met on an Internet chat site. She claimed her actions were to avoid getting raped.

The Incheon Namdong police station detained the 36-year-old woman, who allegedly stabbed the man 30 times with a knife she kept for self-defense at a motel on May 26.

The woman is also accused of cutting up the body with tools she bought at a nearby store after the murder, then dumping some of the corpse in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, where the motel was located, and parts in an alley in Incheon.

“I dismembered the body, because it was too heavy to move,” the woman told the police.

The police are investigating to determine whether prostitution was involved, as well as the presence of an accomplice.
