A Pakistani father-in-law, 56, who kept his son’s bride as a sex slave was caught when she learned enough English to call 999.

The 22-year-old Pakistani bride came to the U.K. following an arranged marriage and the father-in-law imprisoned and made her swear on the Koran that she would keep the abuse a secret.

When she came to the U.K. in 2008 at the age of 18 she wasn’t able to speak English but after three months she learned enough to phone 999 emergency to ask for help.

She said that she contemplated suicide, a court heard, after her husband abandoned her at his parent’s home.

The man pleaded guilty to sexual assault, forcing his victim to engage in sexual activity against her will.

파키스탄인 시아버지(56)는 정약결혼을 위해 영국에 온 며느리(22)를 폭행 한 뒤 모든 폭력행위를 비밀로 할 것을 코란에 맹세하도록 강요했다.

피해자는 영국으로 이민을 온 2008년 당시 영어로 의사소통이 불가능했으나 3개월이 지나 언어를 습득한 후 영국의 긴급전화번호인 999로 신고해 도움을 요청했다.

이 여성은 법원에서 남편이 시부모의 자택에 그녀를 방치한 채 떠나 자살을 기도한 적이 있다고 말했다.

시아버지는 피해자의 의지를 무시한 채 성폭력을 가한 혐의를 인정했다.
