Jan. 9, 2012 - 16:09 By Korea Herald
The Park Hyatt Seoul has appointed Frederic Boulin as general manager of the hotel.

“As the hotel’s new general manager, I will forge ahead with our partners and our talented, devoted team to bring out the unique luxury positioning of the Park Hyatt Seoul,” he said.

Boulin has extensive experience in Asia, most notably as executive assistant manager of food and beverages at the Grand Hyatt Seoul in 2002, and with the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong and Shanghai working in the Food and Beverage Development Program.

He has also worked for the famed Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Hong Kong and held a position with the Intercontinental hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

“It is a great pleasure to return to the vibrant and magical city of Seoul and I am delighted to play a role in this fine property that is the essence of luxury and urban sophistication,” he said.

Opened in 2005 as the second Park Hyatt hotel in Asia, Park Hyatt Seoul is recognized as a contemporary personal residence in which the number of guestrooms is limited in order to provide a high level of service, comfort and attention to detail.

Park Hyatt Seoul was the only hotel in Korea to be included on the “2011 Readers’ Choice Award” by Conde Nast Traveller, ranking number 51 amongst “Top 100 Best in the World” and number 13 amongst “125 Best Hotels in Asia.”

Boulin has also worked in several Latin and Central American countries, Europe and North Africa.

He graduated from hotel and business administration at Switzerland’s Glion Hotel School and was selected as corporate trainee by Hyatt International in 1990, starting his career with Hyatt at Hyatt Regency Acapulco.
