Mannam’s picnic on the Han

Sept. 7, 2011 - 19:08 By
A Mad Hatter’s picnic is to be hosted on the banks of the Han River by Mannam volunteers.

People of all nationalities are asked to come dressed with a touch of madness for the event at Yeouinaru Han River Park to run from 11:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17. Prizes will be awarded for the best outfits.

There will also be a toy drive to help out three orphanages assisted by Mannam. Toys, accessories and clothes suitable for children aged up to seven years will be collected along with cash donations.
Mannam volunteers enjoy a previous event at the War Memorial of Korea in Seoul.

Picnickers should bring their own food to share their lunch pot-luck style with others.

Mannam Incorporated is a Korea-originated association of about 54 volunteer organizations, focusing on art, culture and volunteer services. The group plans events for foreigners in Korea from cooking and language classes to a large foreigner festival at the Korean War Memorial in Seoul last month.
